For each of the six Chief Gear pieces, pick its current rarity (Uncommon through Legendary) and level so the tool knows your real starting point.
Select the rarity and level you want each piece to reach — for example pushing a piece from Epic to Mythic — one slot at a time or all six at once.
The calculator adds up the Hardened Alloy, Polishing Solution, Design Plans and Lunar Amber needed across every piece you selected.
Compare the totals with what you actually hold to spot which material is the bottleneck before you spend a single upgrade.
Every Chief Gear upgrade in Whiteout Survival consumes a set of materials — Hardened Alloy, Polishing Solution, Design Plans and, at the higher rarities, Lunar Amber — and each upgrade contributes SvS points based on the materials it burns. Unlike troop training or War Academy research, Chief Gear has no acceleration component, so the score comes purely from the gear resources you spend. The exact points-per-material coefficient isn't shown in-game, so treat the SvS contribution as roughly proportional to the total materials consumed.
For a concrete case: with six Chief Gear slots and five rarities from Uncommon to Legendary, pushing every piece up one full rarity step — say Epic to Mythic — means paying that step's material cost across all six pieces, drawing mostly on Hardened Alloy and Polishing Solution, with Design Plans and Lunar Amber concentrated in the higher rarities. Since each upgrade's points track the materials it spends, batching several pieces into a single SvS window scores far more than upgrading one at a time — which is why players stockpile first and use the calculator to size the batch before the scoring day.
